Overview
How The Fun Began. Our Roots:
In July 2006, a textile designer and a graphic designer discovered their shared passion for fun, colourful, children’s decor. Fueled by possibility, they quit their reliable day jobs to launch Funteriors. Like many small businesses, Funteriors had humble beginnings...borrowed desks in Julie’s Mom’s laundry room. Many a day’s business was conducted to the gentle whir of a tumble dryer, while windows steamed up and paperwork wilted in the growing humidity. But, on a wing and a prayer (and a ludicrously small budget), Funteriors began designing and producing children’s decor.
Within 6 months, the ladies knew they were onto a potential winner, as more designs became actual products, and customers reacted well to the range. Funteriors quickly outgrew its laundry office, and soon opened a small, colourful showroom in Main Road, Walmer. Now Funteriors has grown into a truly inspiring showroom of 80m sq. (See for yourself on our website!).
The FUN grabs Gold. Twice!
In October 2007, Funteriors bravely exhibited at the PE Homemakers Expo. To save costs and maximise exposure, the handmade stand was meticulously designed to the last square centimetre, but efforts paid off as Funteriors won a Gold award for their stand and beat many large national companies in the process. In July 2009, Funteriors decided to use the skills learnt from their previous expo and exhibited another gold-winning stand at the Homemakers Expo.
Onwards & Upwards:
In October 2008, Hayley, one of Funteriors founding members, decided to explore the option of being a full time mom and left Funteriors. Julie continued to grow Funteriors into the success that it is today. Funteriors moved into a bigger, better showroom, offering more product and loads of inspiration. From a small local company, Funteriors now sells and distributes nation-wide.

Linen and soft Furnishings, décor and accessories, as well as wallpaper, borders and hand-painted letters and hand painted canvasses are part of our range. Apart from our product range we also offer you services such as consultations, room layouts and designs, complete room make-overs and/or painting of stripes.
